So this week was a bit of a fast one, not much was done but it went pretty fast. I presented to my host mums daughters children's school (a bit of a tongue twister hahaha) but it was a good day.  I showed children pictures about Niue Island and even showed a few videos to some classes of a Takalo Niue (cultural war dance) and a NZ Haka :) now all the chilldren want to come to New Zealand and Niue.  I have found that Austrians like New Zealanders so I am safe I suppose🤣🤣.  After the day was done I received a few gifts from children which I thought was so sweet.  My favourite was receiving  Mozart chocolates (I’m not gonna open or eat them at ALL until I get back so I can share one with nana evo and one with mama and one for myself ☺👀).  Mozart chocolates had music notes on them that was supercool. So the next day I was back at school, and guess what.... it snowed in the morning. Like real bad (not terribly bad but really bad) when I got to my bus stop...

Guten morgen world here is this weeks blog!!! ! So last week the blog was about my trip to Vienna and I talked about how wicked it was.  Well this week is a bit of another chill back week ;).  On Monday and Tuesday it was just a normal day, same things different days, school, home, bus and tram rides, routines.  Wednesday I was invited to present at mamas school again.  Talking about New Zealand and Niue. This time it was to the 4th graders which I believe is 12-13 year olds. It was a good day :) met quite a lot of new people, got a few Instagram and Snapchat names yah know 👀🤣 . I am learning to talk in public openly abit more and I have learned that talking about NZ and Niue makes me happy and proud.  Like flying the Niue flag it makes me feel good.  When I got home though I was absolutely knackered. Yuh girl slept from 3pm to 5am in the morning the next day 😅 probably not good but it felt GREEEAT waking up the next day hahaha.  On Thursda...

Flying the Niue Flag in Vienna, Austria January 2020.  Anna T on STS NZ Exchange Programme. Hi family, hi blog followers friends and everyone who has taken the time to read my blog.  As promised here is this week's blog, sharing some of my experiences with you guys.  All is well on this side of the world, I am well and on the move.   This weekend gone I went to Vienna as I mentioned in last weeks blog. I stayed with my host mum's sister, Sabina, and her beautiful family.   Before I talk about what I did I shall share with you how I got to Vienna ;).  Remembering I am only 15 years old yet to turn 16 on the otherside of the world living with a host family in Mayersdorf, Graz, Austria. So on Thursday I went to school like every other day in Graz.  It was just an ordinary day (an ordinary week basically) and after school I walked over to a restaurant called Rudolphs where I had something to eat before my bus ride. Papa a...

Mama, Papa and I. Hey there blog friends and family, its been a while hasnt it.  I tried the Blog in Vlog.  So basically, mum and I chatted and we both decided that it'll be better if I continued to do my blogging rather than the famous "Blog in a Vlog" (it was fun while it lasted) so I have decided to go back to doing so. 2020 has arrived, we are half way through January and guess whatttt its going to be the year of travelling I feel.  I am half way through my exchange before you know it I am home again.  Its a life changing experience I have learnt and I dont quite know how to feel about going home.  I know mum already has my March-June calendar kind of tentatively up and running and I am getting my head around Level1s. The blog would have been up on Sunday however I was out with Mama and Papa for most of the day!  So before I explain what I did i'll be giving a brief run down of whats happened lately for you guys.  Time seems to just go so ...

Christmas in Mayersdorf.

Skiing at Mount Koralpe in Austria......In my case learning how to stay UP!!! Today is the 30th of December, it is a Monday! But let’s rewind back to the Christmas celebrations :).  Last when I updated I mentioned a birthday celebration in Neuberg, turns out there was no snow 😪 nada. Ai fei. It was sad. But the birthday was good I met some more of the family and it’s so trippy how everyone just reminds me of my own family back home. Full of life and energy ahh this past week has made me a bit homesick I’m not gonna lie. They honestly remind me of my family in NZ.  I know mum spent Xmas with my uncle and family then my aunty went to Paeroa with my cousins so I really miss them. Everywhere I have gone here I have enjoyed and learned something new.  Again I find myself incredibly lucky to be placed with my host family.  They are genuine people who want to learn about my culture and I them.  The children speak German in our interactions and I have ...
